About the Collection
The Wooden Railway Collection has its origins in the childhood toys of David Harper, an Australian enthusiast, in the late 1980s. Starting with a small assortment of second-hand track, two red express trains, and a few repainted freight carriages, the Collection has grown to encompass over 200 metres of wooden rails, hundreds of pieces of rolling stock, and thousands of accessories.
A large selection of genuine BRIO rolling stock comprises the nucleus of the Collection, including suburban and express passenger trains, steam locomotives, and an expansive range of freight carriages. Over time, many wooden toys from a wide variety of vendors has been added to supplement the core Brio and Brio-compatible pieces, such as city buildings, cars and planes, and industrial infrastructure.
